I know many people (especially here) loathe the idea of giving Google any money at all, but if there are creators on YouTube you like, YT premium functions pretty much like Nebula does. It's the main reason I haven't considered joining Nebula, it feels like a mix of Patreon and YouTube Premium but with extra steps.
@nitpicking I could have quite the conversation about my thoughts here. I have a lot of stuff in my mind regarding affordances of platforms, gatekeeping of streaming services, discoverability and audience, algorithms, etc. etc.
On balance, I'd still rather be on YouTube and supported directly via Patreon.

Although TBH I've used a refrigerant dehumidifier in England with no problem whatsoever. The defrost cycle has to kick in every now and then in the winter but once that's done it's back to business as usual. (That was in an inhabited space though, not an unheated cellar.)

Rotary desicants are of some (if limited) use in some parts of the United States. I live in an area with lots of streams, rivers, creeks, swimming pools, and a few lakes, so humidity can be quite high in the shoulder seasons. My garage's dehumidifier suffers from the freezing issue during spring and autumn when I normally need heat, and the garage isn't "plumbed" for the HVAC system, so I might end up getting a rotary desicant at some point.

Many of these policies are to blame for the shrinking the quality of our lives.
This is the perfect example of why in this trade-based society things get fucked. Because people are focused on trading, making a profit. And these idiots did just that. Cut corners, then cut their lives short and of those who paid for their scam.

Even though my mom knew she was dying (15 years of colon cancer) she never bothered assigning me executive of her estate, or my dad either (who is also dead now as of November), and it's been nothing but headaches because of it. I don't know if I can get the court, based a thousand miles away in Arizona, to reissue the checks in my name--but it's crazy that I, my dead parents' sole offspring, don't have the legal power to cash checks in their name. There needs to be a solid market for mid-range GPUs that offer good-enough performance at really good prices, and both Intel and AMD are in a position to provide that.
Let nvidia run away with it at the top end. It's clear gamers who chase top end performance are always going to pick nvidia, so it's a better business move imo to pursue the greater majority of the market that just wants something affordable and competent.

I tried a weird strategy on Lemmy and so far it seems to works.
There were 2-3 dudes systematically downvoting everything I post.
So what I did was artificially create myself a fan base consisting of just others accounts of me and upvoting everything. So with all those "fake" accounts and the few people following me for real, the post stay positive even with some moronic downvoters.
However, when posts already have 4-5 upvotes, the downvoters are surprisingly not present.
So my guess is they just want to demoralize newcomers by quickly making their post negatives. As soon as you gain a real audience, they move away, proving the fact they are assholes.
If you ever feel helpless like you have no power as just one citizen to effect change, just remember that last week we held a party so big it made the Butthurt Toddler In Chief bomb Iran.
