When it comes to the shutdown of Autistici/Inventati we really should reserve most of our anger for our leaders right here in Europe. They allowed this to happen.
Sure, the US government is beyond evil and before that, optimistically, merely problematic. But they only hold this power over Europe and European companies, initiatives and whatnot because we've allowed for it. That's on us.
The shutdown of A/I saddens me but it is also the only reasonable choice they had and they should be commended not wanting to cause harm to their users.

We keep behaving like 10-year-old kids who wait for some mummy or daddy to do something and tell us what to do, instead of adults who understand that unless *we* do something, nobody else will.
We wish so much for a daddy to lead us? OK, no worries, a daddy will surely come to take the burden of responsibility and government from us. The we can simply follow and obey daddy.
And that's what we deserve; that's our choice.

Our leaders keep claiming to do one thing and then do another. Whether is when they're campaigning or while in office. Most of them can't be trusted and this is nothing new but at the same time I struggle to judge people for trusting a politician to keep their word, especially as most people just don't have the time to constantly engage with politics.
Many if not most people are also being manipulated into voting one way or the other, believing things will be better. People are responsible themselves for their actions but they also lack the education and live in a media ecosphere that is not regulated. Both are things politics needs to solve.
This is a downward spiral that becomes increasingly difficult to handle and, frankly, is at a point where it may well bring society to collapse.
The situation is not as black-and-white as you portray it and requires a much larger context.

It's just clothes and acessories, and not even particularly revealing clothing half the time (leave it to kinksters to find ways to wear a fully enclosed bodysuit that's hornier than most bikinis)
A lot of it seems to come down to the idea of kink as a sort of secret sex, like if someone wears a collar for kinky reasons and you see it, they've fucked you somehow, and that's just not how it works.
Kink fashion is fundamentally fashion, just informed by a kinky notion of what's attractive rather than a vanilla one. Also, it's not like there's a line between kink fashion and 'vanilla' fashion, fashion houses take inspiration from kink all the time when they wanna be edgy and a large chunk of kink fashion is just repurposed PPE, millitary surplus or workwear.
It's really more about the assumptions people make about whoever is wearing it and pretty much 100% of the time it translates to marginalizing people who are visibly queer.

Part of my job is taking old research code and trying to turn it into something more production-ready. A lot of that job is optimizing, but also removing a whole bunch of accidental complexity. The original author often didn't know what the solution looked like when they started.
But since the new code had to exist alongside the original code, I had to copy and paste a lot. So ... a whole bunch of naming-things-is-hard instances popped out. FooWidget often became SimpleFooWidget, for lack any more prominent property to describe.
In hindsight, it was a terrible naming scheme. I guess I was only into the S, not the M.

Lots of women left to join the open division instead, and now the women's club are complaining about losing their best rowers.

I am reminded that a college friend, male, rowed on the men's lightweight four and coxswained one of the women's boats.
Nobody complained.
It might make sense, at least in some sports, to have age, weight and/or height classes, rather than sex restricted teams. I am not sure it would work for all sports--but I'm not sure it wouldn't.
But it's worth a try. At the very least it would be interesting. It might even answer some questions about how sex matters in sport.
i’m a trans masters rower and the rowing community is generally very good with gender stuff!
over the winter there was a scare that trans women would be banned from rowing entirely, but us rowing essentially said that they will never check or respond to any reports that a rower is trans and should be disqualified. also pretty much all of the regattas have rejected that policy entirely. also my team and coaches said that they would openly defy the ban if it came to it.
also the coxswains (the people who steer the boat and give instructions and who dont contribute with their muscles but absolutely contribute to the boats speed) dont have to be the same gender as the rowers. so cis men have won medals in women’s events at the olympics ever since 2020, and cis women have won medals in men’s events.
I love rowing. It's the only exercise machine I've considered buying because the old folks center where I work out doesn't have one, or room for one.
Were I in college, and rowing, I would have joined the walkout. Good for them.

The great thing about the idea of a maximum working temperature is it acts as an automatic workers strike for climate change.
Like imagine everyone walking out of every office and workshop today. How long would oil companies bosses last with every other rich CEO unable to make money.
But also remember how greenhouse gas emissions dropped like a stone with the lockdowns?
While a max working temp law is great from just a protecting people point of view, it's secondary effects are massive and why I think there is a going to be a huge pushback from some of the most polluting companies. But I think it'll happen eventually.

I experienced this sort of "transition" from heat exhaustion to heat stroke some years ago. I fell asleep at a 110 °F heat and It was afternoon. I woke up at around 1 AM.
I wasn't sweating anymore, felt dizzy with a throbbing headache but I still had a cool skin. I feel like my legs would cramp anytime at that moment too. I was never hungry for water until that moment.

Also, remember why people don’t. Some people just want to read. Their accounts are there because you need an account to be able to follow multiple people or hashtags in the fediverse. If they want to be passive observers that’s okay. They aren’t being nefarious by not posting personal information that will cause people to send them unsolicited messages, they’re just shy.
And when people block follow requests for these people, don’t be surprised if they go and tell all of their offline friends that there’s nothing worth reading here.

The first point might cause confusion for some of the people you mentioned, as they might ask themselves: ‘Well, why are your suggestions acceptable, but mine aren’t?’
