Why have a dedicated centralized service just to hold a few hyperlinks?

Hyperlinks are web 1.0. You can literally rebuild Linktree in plain old HTML files in like 10 minutes or so. You don't even need a database or any kind of server side scripting language.

All that services like Linktree offer is convenience at the cost of sucking up your private information.
