CNBC: As Anthropic barrels toward a potential $2 trillion market cap on the Nasdaq, one research firm is valuing the artificial intelligence company at a mere $150 billion and says Wall Street is about to face an "unprecedented test of investor gullibility." In a report on Tuesday, independent financial research provider New Constructs called Anthropic's upcoming offering the "most ridiculous IPO of 2026."
To reach its desired valuation, the firm estimates Anthropic would need to record double the trailing year of profit for Nvidia, the world's most valuable tech company. Nvidia's net income over the past four quarters topped $190 billion. Meanwhile, Anthropic's revenue in 2025 was $4.6 billion as the company racked up a net loss of $42 billion, according to Reuters, which cited a leaked copy of the company's prospectus.
Anthropic's mounting operating losses coupled with emerging competition from a plethora of open-source models led New Constructs to conclude that, "We don't think Anthropic has a viable business...."
Anthropic didn't respond to a request for comment...

@paulk I do pay attention to numbers a lot. When I used to do long bus trips I would often do modulo divisions by 7 of license pates in my head.
My Dad had the same fascination with numbers.
I usually try to create words from the letters on number plates. Dutch license plates had many letters.
Norwegian plates have two letter and five numbers. I have an algorithm for mod 7 that's relatively easy. Not as easy as mod 3 of course.
My sister has even more of a numbers brain. She knows the license plate of everyone she knows in our little home town so she never makes a mistake when waving when she meet people on the road just because they have the same model of car. 😄

I also attempted to deploy it to my website, if folks are curious.
So this one datacenter in Russia got bombed by Ukraine and caused a Yandex outage. And I have seen people posting data-backed analyses showing this has resulted in a drop in net traffic from certain scraper bot networks; and I've seen people making *jokes* that this will show up in drops of coordinated inauthentic activity on websites such as "X" [Twitter]. But I haven't seen any attempts to analyze with hard data whether social media activity changed during this particular data center outage.

Zelenskyy hit another Yandex data center in Russia, and I’m now hearing anecdotal reports that (pro-Republican) bot traffic has gone down considerably.
There is probably never going to be another opportunity like this to study the impact that shutting down this data center has on disinformation bots. I’m looking forward to reading about how many seemingly US-local conservative accounts are actually sock-puppeted from Russia.
It would be sweet irony to learn that Zelenskyy has saved the US midterms by stemming the flow of disinformation, because we damn well know Republicans won’t do the job.
